The White House coin was created on March 5 as a tribute to what was described as the “most goated intern of all time” running the official @WhiteHouse account. The post linked to the coin quote tweeted a clip from the account showing an unclassified video of a U.S. strike on a vehicle in a barren area. The video used a popular audio track that had already circulated widely on social media.
The referenced post from the official account shows the strike footage paired with that sound.
The next day, the account posted another video that spread quickly. The 42 second edit used dramatic music, fast cuts, explosive visual effects, and large on screen text presenting the operation as a decisive victory. The post accumulated more than 17M views.
Another video from the White House X account showed missiles or drones striking Iranian military assets, paired with SpongeBob repeatedly saying “You want to see me do it again?”
This upload from the White House account showed unclassified videos of a military operation “Epic Fury” targeting Iranian military assets, but this time it was paired with the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas “Ah shit, here we go again” meme clip.
As the White House intern continued posting military clips paired with memes, the coin reached an all time high of $1.9M on March 6.
