Burnie Senders takes Bernie Sanders and turns him into a rigid Soviet-style character, posting lines about perfect plans, forced equality, and attacking wealth, all delivered in a straight-faced tone where the intensity and lack of irony become the joke itself.
One early post shows the character fully committing to the bit, repeating extreme communist talking points.
Attention picked up when Solana co-founder Toly began interacting with the account. His first notable engagement came on April 3, when he quote tweeted a Burnie post and asked if it was a “Sleeper for 2028?”
He continued replying to related posts, including one where he answered a question about the BURNIE narrative by saying it leads to “pain, misery, and the gulag.”
After one of these later mentions from Toly, BURNIE moved from around $7M to $14M market cap.
The official BURNIE X account also pulled in a separate reference by highlighting a comment from Elon Musk mentioning “Bernie Senders.”
