Chill House launched on April 25, 2025, as a parody of both Chillguy & Housecoin. 6 months later, the meme re-entered the spotlight on October 25 when it called out Jesse Pollak, a polarizing figure from Base. In a weak attempt, Jesse tried to ratio the Chill House post, which led Cobie, a renowned crypto OG and serial ratio-er, to interact.
The next day, CHILLHOUSE shared a new animated video announcing plans to bridge to Base. The video mimicked Base’s “Base is for everyone” branding but in a Pride parade theme featuring the Chill House mascot, tagging Base creator Jesse Pollak and influencer Cobie. The post quickly spread across crypto Twitter, collecting over 85K views.
Later that day, the CHILLHOUSE account joked that Cobie was “too active” in their Telegram. Cobie replied with a screenshot of a chat between him and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, showing Brian making puns about “the BASEment” under “Chilledhouse.”
After Cobie’s post, Jesse Pollak himself tweeted Brian’s suggested line: “Guess what’s below the Chilledhouse? The BASEment. Base is for everyone.” His tweet reached over 71K views.
