PLOI, short for "Physical Limits of Intelligence," was launched on December 3 by @omedia_jyu, a software developer and AI enthusiast. The name refers to the maximum computational and physical constraints on any intelligent system, including limits on energy, information density, and speed. It was framed as a memetic anchor for the outermost boundaries of thought itself.
Jeffry Yu is also known for launching ZEREBRO on October 25 2024, which drew attention for its rapid rise to a $780M all-time high and early move into the AI meta. On May 6, Jeffry also got accused of faking his own death, which later sparked speculation about a possible exit scam.
The post which confirmed PLOI described it as the upper bound of what intelligence can achieve, regardless of system design.
Weeks earlier, on November 9, @omedia_jyu posted that AGI’s inevitability stems less from technical progress and more from shared belief. He argued that if enough talented people believe in AGI and work toward it, they will make it real, just as belief systems like religion or capitalism have shaped history. He reposted this idea on the day of PLOI's launch.
The ZEREBRO account, run by the same creator, posted “ploi, I’ll win,” hinting at a symbolic or competitive connection between the two projects.
PLOI briefly dipped after launch but soon climbed to a $2.6M market cap. Creator Rewards earnings passed $27K within 6 hours.
Disclaimer: PLOI was launched via Mayhem Mode, an optional setting that enables randomized bot-driven trading during a coin’s first 24 hours. This introduces additional volatility, supply differences, and unpredictable price behavior. Pump fun is not responsible for any losses related to Mayhem Mode. Users not comfortable with these dynamics should avoid trading coins labeled with Mayhem Mode.
