Jotchua traces back to 2021 when @_kingorange posted an image of a dog labeled "Jotchua." Over time, the image evolved into a meme template that people edited into different outfits, settings, and situations. The character gradually spread across X and became recognizable far beyond its original audience.
KFC Spain became one of the first major brands to adopt the meme in 2024, posting its own version of Jotchua dressed as a KFC employee. The post stood out because it marked one of the earliest large brand interactions with the character.
The meme resurfaced on February 24, 2026, when KFC Spain shared another Jotchua post years after the character's original creation.
Interest picked up again on June 6 when @_kingorange quoted the KFC post and reflected on seeing a major brand use a character he had created years earlier.
Later that day, a newly formed Jotchua community announced that it had onboarded the creator and redirected fees to him. Unlike previous Jotchua launches on Pump fun, this was the first version to publicly involve @_kingorange.
Shortly afterward, @_kingorange confirmed that he had claimed the creator allocation and thanked supporters of the project.
On June 21, Jotchua reached a new all time high of $9.94M market cap. Following the move, trader LJC shared another Jotchua image featuring the dog in a cowboy hat and referencing the token’s latest milestone.
Pow also shared an image of the puppy surrounded by flowers and sparkles with the text “there is no meme” and “Jotchua loves you,” using the character in a lighthearted post following the breakout.
The new high marked another milestone for a meme that first appeared online in 2021 and continued to resurface years later.
