Justice for Sare (Sare): The Justice for Sara movement refers to the pursuit of justice for Sara Sharif, a 10-year-old girl from Woking, England, who was found dead on 10 August 2023 with severe injuries all over her body. A post-mortem examination revealed more than 70 injuries, including fractures, burns, and bite marks—signs of prolonged abuse and mistreatment. Her father (Urfan Sharif), stepmother (Beinash Batool), and uncle (Faisal Malik) were arrested and charged. In December 2024, a UK court found Urfan and Beinash guilty of murder, sentencing them to life imprisonment (minimum terms of 40 and 33 years). Faisal Malik received 16 years in prison for causing or allowing the death of a child. The case shocked the UK and sparked the #JusticeForSara campaign—a symbol of public outrage against child abuse and the failures of the child protection system. The movement also inspired the proposal of “Sara’s Law”, a new legal initiative aimed at improving coordination between schools, social services, and law enforcement to better protect vulnerable children and prevent future tragedies.
