Sarbi (Sarbi ): Sarbi was an Australian special forces explosives detection dog who went missing in Afghanistan for nearly 14 months before being found alive. A black Labrador and Newfoundland mix, she was trained to detect improvised explosive devices for Australian troops serving in Oruzgan Province as part of Operation Slipper, Australia’s contribution to the war in Afghanistan. Before her military service, Sarbi had worked with the Incident Response Regiment during the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
