Lytton, in West Nashville, Tennessee.The IncidentThe fatal confrontation took place around 5:00 PM on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the U-Haul facility located on Annex Avenue. According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the shooting stemmed from a sudden verbal dispute between the two men. Rice later admitted to investigators that he and Lytton argued over a drink before he pulled out a handgun and shot Lytton multiple times.
