Description

What Happened In late December 2025, a security incident was confirmed involving the Trust Wallet Chrome browser extension (version 2.68). Shortly after it was updated via the official Chrome Web Store, users began reporting that their wallets were drained — funds disappearing within minutes of unlocking their extension. Investigations pointed to a malicious version of the extension that contained unauthorized code, suggesting a supply-chain compromise where attackers slipped harmful script into the update itself. This affected hundreds of users across multiple blockchain networks and resulted in approximately $7 million in crypto loss.
