PAPER PLANE MOMENT #2 (2018) - On April 13th, Russia banned Telegram because he would not hand over the encryption keys to the government, so Durov called on everyone to throw paper planes as a sign of resistance and freedom. PAPER PLANE MOMENT #3 (2024) - On August 24th, Pavel Durov was arrested in France over allegations that Telegram facilitates criminal activities including money laundering and drug trafficking. People worldwide organized paper plane protests to show support for Durov and for freedom of speech.
