A 12-year-old Parowan girl who died in a side-by-side accident Friday evening is being remembered for her bright personality, love of family and adventurous spirit as her community rallies around her family. According to the Iron County Sheriff's Office, emergency responders were dispatched around 6:49 p.m. June 12 to a reported vehicle fire near the Valentine Peak Sports Complex at the Iron County Fairgrounds. Investigators said two juvenile girls, ages 12 and 13, were riding in a side-by-side when it rolled over and caught fire. One of the girls was able to escape and suffered injuries. The other, identified by friends and family- as Dusty Rose Dalley, became trapped inside the vehicle and died at the scene. As news of the tragedy spread, Parowan High School and Parowan Elementary School shared a message of support for students, families and community members affected by the loss. "Our hearts are heavy as we reach out to you today," school officials wrote. "Our school and community have been deeply shaken by a tragic accident." The schools announced free counseling services for students and community members, including walk-in support hours and access to school and district therapists. (Sunday, June 15th, from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM near the Ram) A GoFundMe fundraiser has also been created to assist Dusty's family with funeral and memorial expenses. Organizers described Dusty as "the definition of an All-American girl" who loved dancing, baseball, horses and spending time with friends and family. "Dusty brought joy, laughter, and love wherever she went," the fundraiser states.
