🇺🇸DECLASSIFIED: THE CIA'S PSYCHIC MISSION TO JUPITER In 1973, deep in the Cold War, the CIA secretly launched an experiment in remote viewing - a form of psychic projection - to explore Jupiter. 2 psychics, Harold Sherman and Ingo Swann, were separately tasked with “seeing” the planet from across the country. The results were stunningly similar. They both described a thick, golden atmosphere, massive volcanic peaks, and even liquid somewhere on the surface - years before scientists discovered evidence of Jupiter’s complex cloud layers and volcanic activity on its moons. Sherman even claimed to have seen undiscovered moons orbiting the gas giant. At the time, only 12 were known. Today, 95 moons have been identified. The experiment was one of the CIA’s earliest attempts at using psychic abilities for intelligence gathering. Fearful that the USSR was investing in paranormal research, the U.S poured $20 million into the Stargate Project, which ran until the 1990s. Remote viewers were tested for military and extraterrestrial applications - including a 1984 attempt to study the ancient history of Mars. Whether it was cutting-edge intelligence work or a desperate leap into pseudoscience, the CIA took it very seriously.
