Red-billed duck The red-billed duck, commonly known as the big red-headed duck, is a large duck. The individual is smaller than the green-headed duck, with a body length of 45-55 cm and a weight of about 1 kg. The male bird's head is dark chestnut and has a light brown and yellow feather crown. The upper body is dark brown, the wing mirror is white, and the mouth is scarlet. The lower body is black, and the two sides are white. The characteristics are extremely obvious and easy to distinguish in the wild. The female bird's body is brown all over, and the sides of the head, the side of the neck, the cheek and throat are grayish white. When flying, the large white spots on and under the wings are extremely eye-catching. It is mainly distributed in Central Europe and Central Asia, from the Danube River Basin through Turkey, the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, Kyrgyzstan to West Siberia, south to western Mongolia, Iran and northern Syria. There are also a small number of breeding in eastern Spain, southern France, northern Europe, and all the way to Denmark and the Netherlands.
