Mewtwo first appeared in the first generation of Pokémon games, Pokémon Red and Green, which were released in Japan on February 27th, 1996.[1] Mewtwo is Pokémon #150 out of the initial 151 Pokémon.[2] According to lore in the games, Mewtwo was created by scientists when they altered the DNA of an embryo in a pregnant Mew. Mew gave birth to Mewtwo on February 6th. Mewtwo became too powerful to control and destroyed the Pokémon Mansion in Cinnabar Island and travels to Cerulean Cave. The player can encounter Mewtwo only after defeating the Elite Four. It is known as the Strongest and first Genetically modified Pokemon.
