In the pixelated alleys of cyberspace, Bum Willy had a new mission. One rainy evening (well, it was raining in someone's desktop wallpaper), Willy overheard a quiet sob echoing through the browser tabs. It was a little boy from a small town, trying to upload his school project before midnight. But his Wi-Fi was terrible. The signal flickered like a candle in a storm. Bum Willy, being a creature of the internet, felt the call. He zipped through fiber optics and bounced across satellites until he reached the boy's blinking router. With a flick of his invisible hat and a wink no one could see, he climbed inside. He began whispering to the cables: “Come on, buddies. We’ve got a project to save.” Willy tuned the packets, untangled the lag, and even scared off a few greedy background apps. The connection steadied. The upload bar, once stuck, began to move. 20%… 50%… 100%! The boy cheered. Somewhere in the internet, Willy smiled and melted back into the signal, leaving behind only a slightly faster ping and the scent of static electricity. And from that day on, whenever someone says their Wi-Fi suddenly "just got better" — maybe, just maybe, Bum Willy was there.
