In an alternate universe where the swamps of the Far Far Away Kingdom are not only surrounded by greenery but also enveloped in the brooding atmosphere of the 2000s, Shrek and Fiona find themselves swept up in a new cultural wave. After accidentally stumbling upon a concert of an emo band, they felt a strange pull toward this dark and emotionally charged subculture. Shrek, who had always felt different from everyone else, saw in this culture a way to express his hidden anxieties and inner turmoil. Fiona, sharing his feelings, also found in the emo style a reflection of her own internal struggle between being a princess and an ogre. Together, they decided to dive into this new world, changing not only their appearance but also their outlook on life. Transforming into an emo-boy and emo-girl, Shrek and Fiona began to attract the attention of everyone in the kingdom. Their new style was full of black clothing, chains, side-swept bangs covering half their faces, and dark song lyrics they started performing in forest clearings. They preached the idea that even the strongest and most outwardly unshakable beings have the right to vulnerability and to express their true feelings. With each passing day, more and more young beings, from princes to dragons, began following their example, immersing themselves in the music and aesthetics of the emo subculture. Shrek and Fiona became true icons of this new movement, reminding everyone that it’s okay to be yourself, even if your emotions are painted in shades of black and gray. And so, they became the first emo-king and emo-queen of the Far Far Away Kingdom, leaving an indelible mark on their world’s history and forever changing the perception of what it means to be an ogre in society.
