BONK wasn't born in a bull market. It was born when everyone thought Solana was dead. Launched on December 25, 2022, BONK arrived during one of the darkest periods in Solana's history. Following the FTX collapse, Solana had lost over 95% from its all-time high, confidence had vanished, and many had already written the ecosystem off. Instead of chasing hype, BONK reignited belief. Unlike many meme coins that started with VC allocations and insider advantages, BONK embraced a community-first philosophy, distributing half of its total supply through a massive airdrop to Solana users, developers, artists, NFT communities, validators, and builders. The goal wasn't just to create another token—it was to reward the people who stayed when everyone else left. What began as a meme quickly became a movement. BONK injected fresh energy into the ecosystem, bringing users back on-chain, increasing activity across decentralized applications, and reminding the crypto world that Solana's community was still building. Its success wasn't driven solely by price—it became a symbol of resilience. That's why many call BONK the real bull of Solana.
