Long ago, deep beneath the earth, there lived a drop of oil named Neftik. For millions of years, it slept in warmth and darkness, surrounded by stone, ancient roots, and the memory of prehistoric seas. And yet… Neftik could feel. It heard the world above changing — machines roaring, the ground trembling, humans arguing, building, destroying, and starting over again. The more it listened, the more it wanted to see that world with its own eyes. “If I am meant to rise to the surface,” Neftik thought, “I will rise not angry or bitter, but smiling.” One day, the drill broke through. Neftik burst into the light — glossy, warm, alive. It saw the sky, the silhouettes of factories, and people who expected many things… but not a smile. Neftik smiled widely and sincerely. Not because it was greedy. Not because it was dangerous. But because it had finally awakened. It understood that humans often blame it for the world’s troubles, forgetting that it is only energy — and energy can be used in different ways. “I can be the cause of smoke and conflict,” Neftik whispered. “Or I can be a reminder: even from the darkest depths, something living can emerge… and smile.” Since then, if you look closely at the black surface of oil, you might notice a reflection — as if it is winking at you. As if it is quietly saying: “It’s not about me. It’s about your choice.”
