Samurai

Samurai were the warrior class of pre-industrial Japan, known for their military skill, Bushido code of conduct, and close association with their lords. They emerged as an elite force in the 10th century and, by the late 12th century, became the de facto rulers of Japan. While their influence waned with modernization, they remain a powerful symbol of Japanese culture and history. Warrior Class: Samurai were professional soldiers, trained from childhood in swordsmanship, archery, and other martial arts. Bushido: They followed a strict code of conduct emphasizing loyalty, honor, and self-discipline. Lords and Vassals: Samurai served powerful lords (daimyo) and were expected to be loyal and obedient. Beyond Warfare: Samurai were not just warriors; they were also expected to be knowledgeable in literature, art, and other cultural pursuits.
