Reggie, a 7-year-old Great Dane, holds the Guinness World Record title for tallest living dog: He stands a remarkable 3 feet and 3 inches tall at his shoulder. Pearl, a 4-year-old Chihuahua, couldn’t be any less like him, at just 3.59 inches tall and holding the title for shortest living dog. But when the two met for the first time this week, they got to share more than just a photo op. They’re both vocal and opinionated, according to their humans, and have big personalities regardless of their stature. “She’s small in size, but she has a big personality!” Pearl’s human said. Another similarity? Their wardrobes. Pearl “chooses what she wants to wear each day,” and Reggie has his own collection of sweaters. The Dane was “very gentle [and] very, very kind” to his pint-sized pal as they got acquainted at his house and sniffed around the property on their playdate. And it turns out maybe there’s a reason they get along so well: Believe it or not, Reggie was the runt of his litter.
