Description

Jeffrey Epstein on Facebook's Libra stablecoin project The newly surfaced documents also show Epstein commenting on Facebook’s proposed Libra stablecoin in 2019. In an email to an associate, Epstein argued that “Libra is not a currency!! It is money… not the same,” warning that the project could create risks if “the wrong kind of people” gained access. Facebook announced Libra in June 2019. The initiative later rebranded as Diem before ultimately being abandoned. Epstein got arrested for sex trafficking within a fortnight of the above conversation. Nonetheless, the Libra stablecoin project never quite took off.
