VQVAE tokenisation seems very powerful. If we could tokenise into arbitrary symbols and have a 'token expander' that worked like a CLI, that would be hot. Could be a really powerful way to manipulate ideas. It would be something like a new format for thought. I'm not sure if VQVAE is the right model for this, but it feels like it's the right direction. There's also the "stage 2" idea where we use a model like GPT to 'run' the tokens and expand them into any arbitrary format. This would in essence be a new language. It would be really interesting if there was a format that had higher leverage for thought. It's clear that some things are very easy in the syntax of certain languages and not others.
