Totem

Totem poles are monumental sculptures hand-carved from large trees—predominantly western red cedar—by the Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast. Originating from communities in western Canada and the northwestern United States (including the Haida, Tlingit, Tsimshian, and Kwakwaka'wakw), these pillars are deeply sacred.
