A much-loved 16-year-old dog named Bertie got trapped in thick undergrowth at the bottom of a steep embankment near the cliffs in Flamborough, Yorkshire (UK). His owners couldn’t reach him, so they called 999 for the Coastguard. The Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team scrambled, descended the embankment, located the elderly pup, and safely hauled him back up. Bertie was completely unharmed and immediately reunited with his grateful family. Station Officer Jordan Grebby said: “We usually get called to dogs over the cliff, but this one was so very different!”
