Why I’m watching $GEOM Not another small-cap story. GEOM (Greenland Energy, Oil & Minerals) is trying to connect oil, minerals and royalties to crypto — data layer first, token second. The network sits around real operators: Nasdaq-listed Greenland Energy ($GLND) and USFM. $GLND is exploring Jameson Land, East Greenland. SEC filings cite independent estimates of up to ~13B barrels of gross unrisked prospective recoverable oil. Prospective resources, not proven reserves. After two wells it can earn up to 70%. Halliburton is in the drilling plan. Other side: Disko-Nuussuaq, West Greenland — nickel, copper, cobalt, PGEs. USFM committed up to $30M for 51%. $GLND and 80 Mile have indicative terms on a merger. Not closed. Still conditional. GEOM’s point: before tokenizing a resource, you need the asset, the license holder, the data source, and whether it changed. They have a resource map, an oracle, signed datasets anchored on Solana, a verification layer and a terminal. Tokenization is still in development. Endgame they’ve described: oil and mineral royalties on-chain — production-linked cash flow, usually locked in specialized TradFi. Wider than Greenland. UMPC Gulf joined the GEOM Foundation, citing Argentine land and a previously announced $550M lithium plan. Larry Swets, GLND’s Executive Chairman, has 25+ years in finance. Public companies, SEC filings, physical projects. That does not remove the risk. Still tiny, illiquid and highly speculative. Exploration isn’t production. The merger isn’t done. The market isn’t built. The bet is whether these TradFi links become working on-chain rails. If they do, this isn’t a memecoin comp — it’s infrastructure between physical resources and crypto markets. NFA. Early-stage. Execution decides it.
