But these bugs picked up too much background noise, rendering the recordings useless. In a desperate move, the CIA's scientists came up with Project Acoustic Kitty. They implanted an audio transmitter into a cat, hoping it could inconspicuously gather information during secret meetings. Despite initial success, training the cat proved challenging. Ultimately, hunger undermined its reliability. The CIA tried to suppress the cat's instinct to seek food but faced setbacks. Acoustic Kitty's final mission ended tragically, and the details remain unclear. Nevertheless, this peculiar endeavor reflects the extremes pursued during the Cold War era.
