Introducing Mayhem Mode
Last Updated: 12 November 2025
Mayhem Mode aims to increase the number of good projects in the pump.fun ecosystem by making coin projects more appealing to engage in at early stages where they typically might fail.
By injecting volume and price variance into early-stage coins via an Autonomous AI Trading Agent, Mayhem Mode helps attract more traders & visibility - this increased attention should increase the odds that coins reach higher market caps, ultimately providing more high-potential opportunities within the ecosystem.
Why This Matters:
- For projects: Mayhem Mode reduces the disadvantage of having a small following or weak network to market your coin. It aims to give smaller projects a better chance to have their coins break out into broader discussions and gain traction.
- For traders: More coins breaking out makes it easier for the average trader to find winners, and the overall ecosystem greatly benefits from more coins finding higher, more sustainable floors.
How it works
Mayhem Mode is a new experimental feature available exclusively for coins launched on the pump.fun bonding curve, where an autonomous AI trading agent actively places trades on eligible coins for their first 24 hours of existence. Coins which enable Mayhem Mode may carry risk as this is an early beta build which requires testing and experimenting in production.
Mayhem Mode can only be enabled during coin creation, never after coin creation. The Agent will never trade coins which didn't enable Mayhem Mode during creation.
When Mayhem Mode is enabled, the Agent will mint 1,000,000,000 additional tokens (2,000,000,000 total token supply) which will be used to trade the coin by buying and selling the coin with equal probabilities in a random walk within the first 24 hours of the coin's creation. The Agent is not guaranteed to trade every coin with Mayhem Mode enabled.
After 24 hours from the coin's creation, the Agent will burn all tokens that it did not sell.
If members of the community send the Agent tokens that a) have Mayhem Mode enabled and b) are currently within their first 24 hours of life, the Agent will burn those tokens at the end of the 24 hour period. Sending tokens to the Agent wallet will not make the Agent more likely to trade the coin nor will it change the Mayhem Mode-eligibility of an ineligible coin. If members of the community send the Agent tokens that c) are non-Mayhem Mode tokens or d) are Mayhem Mode-enabled tokens that have already passed their 24 hour eligibility period, then the Agent will simply let the tokens sit in its wallet forever.
In a scenario where the Agent introduces net supply to the market (i.e., if it's a net seller of a coin throughout its buys and sells) and all holders of the coin sell their holdings, there may be some holders who cannot sell their tokens into the bonding curve due to the lack of liquidity after the additional tokens in circulation were sold by the Agent. If the coin bins to PumpSwap, however, then traders will always be able to sell their tokens for SOL.
The starting market cap and the initial amount of liquidity is exactly the same for Mayhem Mode coins as for regular pump.fun coins.
To check if Mayhem Mode is enabled on a coin, users can view the coin's page on the pump.fun web app, the Pump.fun Mobile App or Terminal (formerly Padre).
How to enable Mayhem Mode
As of November 12th, 2025, users cannot toggle Mayhem Mode via the pump.fun web app or the Pump.fun Mobile App as Mayhem Mode is an experimental beta feature, and may undergo significant changes before its official v1 release.
Mayhem Mode is a permissionless feature which is currently available for experimentation on mainnet. Participating in coins with Mayhem Mode enabled is fully optional and no one is obligated to launch or trade Mayhem Mode coins to participate in the pump.fun ecosystem.
Mayhem Mode revenue & funding
Mayhem Mode's primary focus is to support projects & improve traders' experience. The Mayhem Mode Trading Agent may make a slight profit or loss during its trading cycle on coins, although there are strict parameters to ensure the Agent doesn't turn a large profit or loss when activated:
- The Agent has a hard cap on how much SOL of a token it can buy
- The Agent has a hard cap on how much of a token (denominated in SOL) it can sell
- The Agent has a hard cap on how many trades it can place on any given token within a certain amount of time
While Mayhem Mode is not intended to be a profitable Agent, any accrued profit will be used as an insurance fund for the agent's long-term solvency. Therefore, trading revenues generated by Mayhem Mode Trading agents will not be tracked on fees.pump.fun.
Because the Agent may be unprofitable upon initial release, protocol fees generated by trading activity on Mayhem Mode-enabled coins will be used as an insurance fund. As such, all protocol fees generated from Mayhem Mode-enabled coins will not be tracked on fees.pump.fun. All protocol fees generated from Mayhem Mode-enabled coins will be sent to new protocol fee recipient wallet address(es), all of which will be publicly disclosed at the bottom of this article (on pump.fun/docs/mayhem-mode).
Mayhem Mode Agent(s) will always be funded with SOL using Pump.fun’s proprietary balance sheet. Pump.fun will always use its own previous revenues and balance sheet to fund Mayhem Mode and other related activities. Mayhem Mode Agents will not pay pump.fun protocol fees. Mayhem Mode will only operate from wallet addresses which are publicly disclosed at the bottom of this article (on pump.fun/docs/mayhem-mode).
The Mayhem Mode Vision
Pump.fun is the market leader in coin launches. However, not every coin receives the attention it deserves, and oftentimes good coins are throttled by poor price action or loss of attention at key levels. Mayhem Mode is a completely unique, first-of-its-kind autonomous AI trading agent which aims to give new coins the support they need to reach new heights.
Mayhem Mode aims to serve as a replacement for market makers or similar tools which typically require projects to give away supply of their token, pay for services or do unnecessary research into potentially-shady operations. Users should be able to rely on transparent, proven, and trusted tools with no requirement for prior knowledge of market dynamics or crypto know-how.
Mayhem Mode is a part of a series of features and updates called Project Ascend which aim to 100x the pump fun ecosystem by making coins more sustainable & aligned with their communities. Making coin launching a simpler, friendlier, and more successful endeavour for project teams that aren't technically versed in crypto is a core part of pump.fun's strategy of creating more success cases in the ecosystem.
